EVERYONE CAN SEND only ONE ANSWER!? I am asking you a SERIOUS QUESTION! 101 simple rules to be an entrepreneur? Let START, 101 simple rules to be an entrepreneur? NO1: ?
Marrying an entrepreneur, how do I deal with the uncertanity, emotions and lack of money? My boyfriend and I are getting married this summer. He has been really busy for the past year and we dont talk more than 10minutes a day, and maybe an hour on weekends. I find this isnt enough because we are also in a long distance relationship. I cant sleep until I have talked about trivial things like how our day went or what we ate. He is eternally bored by this kind of conversation, and is not part of any of the wedding planning. He dosent care as long as he turns up. We cant postpone the wedding because our parents are keen on doing it now, and wont understand. We also are in a serious cash crunch with me finishing up grad school and him investing in his company. Anyone married to an entrepreneur with any kind of advice? I have lived comfortably so far, and hope to continue that lifestyle. Any advice on how to get him to understand? talking doesnt help. I'd like to not talk about work in the 10 minutes that I get with him everyday. I do have a career of my own and am trying hard to keep myself busy but I find myself needing reassurance and some attention on a daily basis. I'm marrying him coz I love him, and I know the reason he is busy is coz he needs to get his product ready to go in a few months. I know how he was before he got this busy, and I am hoping once he achieves what he wants, and we are financially secure, then we can have that great life I know we will if we stay together.

Business success possible from just reading books? Have you or do you know anyone who has had success in business by starting their initiatives by teaching themselves thru books? I am beginning to realize that I may have missed out by not taking more business management/operations classes while I was in college, as I am recognizing my entrepreneurial spirit more everyday. (I will be receiving my first bachelors in May tho.) My plan is to learn some business basics and ideas from some serious summer reading on topics like small business for dummies and randall picketts book about the college entrepreneur. I've always heard that all the worlds knowledge is in books and that you can learn anything as long as you apply yourself to learning it.

Scared of Sales? I need to know how I can overcome my actual fear of performing Sales. I have been employed as a manager in a corporate environment for several years. However, I have worked for someone else. I have no marketing skills. I have some college course work completed. At the same time there are several example of successful entrepreneurs that do not have college education. I really want to know from serious individuals how I overcome this barrier. In addition I have never had the ambition to become an entrepreneur, another situation I am afraid of. However, it appears that if I want to enjoy the rest of my life without fear of being broke this is the way.I have come to the realization that all successful entrepreneurs have had to conduct sales to some degree. Real advice only. Thank you.
Investment adviser or chef? If you have passion to be an investment adviser but have to go through 2 years training as a teller, and you hate the kinds of customer service as a teller...watching long lineup, dealing with meant customers and etc, which stress you out. On the other hand, you also love to cook and can be a chef, but need a year or so to go to culinary school, and understand you're gonna deal with yelling and screaming and a different group of people in the kitchen, mild allergy with lobster and shrimp. However, you maybe able to have your own business( restaurant or bakery shop, food chain and etc), which is something you enjoy and you are good at as an entrepreneur. Now, you are over 30's. Which career could you choose? Serious answer will be appreciated. Thanks
do you think marijuana should be legal ? read the history before you ansewer plz, i know its long but its goo? THIS WILL EXPLAIN HOW WE CAN SAVE ON GAS A MAJOR ISSUE NOW, AND WORLD HUNGER CAN STOP AND MEDICINE SHOULD BE MADE AND THE CONFLICT W/ ALCHOL AND TOBACOO COMPANIES, PLZ READ AND REPLY , SERIOUS ANSEWERS , ONLY ANSEWER IF YOU READ , THX READ THIS IF YOU WANT TO KNOW THE TRUTH ABOUT WEED!! (i know it’s long but its good information) The Marijuana Conspiracy THE REAL REASON HEMP IS ILLEGAL by Doug Yurchey And I will raise up for them a plant of renown, and they shall be no more consumed with hunger in the land. — Ezekiel 34/29 The real reason Cannabis has been outlawed has nothing to do with its effects on the mind and body. MARIJUANA is DANGEROUS. Pot is NOT harmful to the human body or mind. Marijuana does NOT pose a threat to the general public. Marijuana is very much a danger to the oil companies, alcohol, tobacco industries and a large number of chemical corporations. Various big businesses, with plenty of dollars and influence, have suppressed the truth from the people. The truth is if marijuana was utilized for its vast array of commercial products, it would create an industrial atomic bomb! Entrepreneurs have not been educated on the product potential of pot. The super rich have conspired to spread misinformation about an extremely versatile plant that, if used properly, would ruin their companies. Where did the word 'marijuana' come from? In the mid 1930s, the M-word was created to tarnish the good image and phenomenal history of the hemp plant...as you will read. The facts cited here, with references, are generally verifiable in the Encyclopedia Britannica which was printed on hemp paper for 150 years: * All schoolbooks were made from hemp or flax paper until the 1880s; Hemp Paper Reconsidered, Jack Frazier, 1974. * It was LEGAL TO PAY TAXES WITH HEMP in America from 1631 until the early 1800s; LA Times, Aug. 12, 1981. * REFUSING TO GROW HEMP in America during the 17th and 18th Centuries WAS AGAINST THE LAW! You could be jailed in Virginia for refusing to grow hemp from 1763 to 1769; Hemp in Colonial Virginia, G. M. Herdon. * George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and other founding fathers GREW HEMP; Washington and Jefferson Diaries. Jefferson smuggled hemp seeds from China to France then to America. * Benjamin Franklin owned one of the first paper mills in America and it processed hemp. Also, the War of 1812 was fought over hemp. Napoleon wanted to cut off Moscow’s export to England; Emperor Wears No Clothes, Jack Herer. * For thousands of years, 90f all ships' sails and rope were made from hemp. The word 'canvas' is Dutch for cannabis; Webster’s New World Dictionary. * 80f all textiles, fabrics, clothes, linen, drapes, bed sheets, etc. were made from hemp until the 1820s with the introduction of the cotton gin. * The first Bibles, maps, charts, Betsy Ross’s flag, the first drafts of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution were made from hemp; U.S. Government Archives. * The first crop grown in many states was hemp. 1850 was a peak year for Kentucky producing 40,000 tons. Hemp was the largest cash crop until the 20th Century; State Archives. * Oldest known records of hemp farming go back 5000 years in China, although hemp industrialization probably goes back to ancient Egypt. * Rembrants, Gainsboroughs, Van Goghs as well as most early canvas paintings were principally painted on hemp linen. * In 1916, the U.S. Government predicted that by the 1940s all paper would come from hemp and that no more trees need to be cut down. Government studies report that 1 acre of hemp equals 4.1 acres of trees. Plans were in the works to implement such programs; Department of Agriculture * Quality paints and varnishes were made from hemp seed oil until 1937. 58,000 tons of hemp seeds were used in America for paint products in 1935; Sherman Williams Paint Co. testimony before Congress against the 1937 Marijuana Tax Act. * Henry Ford’s first Model-T was built to run on hemp gasoline and the CAR ITSELF WAS CONTRUCTED FROM HEMP! On his large estate, Ford was photographed among his hemp fields. The car, 'grown from the soil,' had hemp plastic panels whose impact strength was 10 times stronger than steel; Popular Mechanics, 1941. * Hemp called 'Billion Dollar Crop.' It was the first time a cash crop had a business potential to exceed a billion dollars; Popular Mechanics, Feb., 1938. * Mechanical Engineering Magazine (Feb. 1938) published an article entitled 'The Most Profitable and Desirable Crop that Can be Grown.' It stated that if hemp was cultivated using 20th Century technology, it would be the single largest agricultural crop in the U.S. and the rest of the world. The following information comes directly from the United States Department of Agriculture’s 1942 14-minute film encouraging and instructing 'patriotic American farmers' to grow 350,000 acres of hemp each year for the war effort: '...(When) Grecian temples were new, hemp was already old in the service of mankind. For thousands of years, even then, this plant had been grown for cordage and cloth in China and elsewhere in the East. For centuries prior to about 1850, all the ships that sailed the western seas were rigged with hempen rope and sails. For the sailor, no less than the hangman, hemp was indispensable... ...Now with Philippine and East Indian sources of hemp in the hands of the Japanese...American hemp must meet the needs of our Army and Navy as well as of our industries... ...the Navy’s rapidly dwindling reserves. When that is gone, American hemp will go on duty again; hemp for mooring ships; hemp for tow lines; hemp for tackle and gear; hemp for countless naval uses both on ship and shore. Just as in the days when Old Ironsides sailed the seas victorious with her hempen shrouds and hempen sails. Hemp for victory!' Certified proof from the Library of Congress; found by the research of Jack Herer, refuting claims of other government agencies that the 1942 USDA film 'Hemp for Victory' did not exist. Hemp cultivation and production do not harm the environment. The USDA Bulletin ..404 concluded that hemp produces 4 times as much pulp with at least 4 to 7 times less pollution. From Popular Mechanics, Feb. 1938: 'It has a short growing season...It can be grown in any state...The long roots penetrate and break the soil to leave it in perfect condition for the next year’s crop. The dense shock of leaves, 8 to 12 feet above the ground, chokes out weeds. ...hemp, this new crop can add immeasurably to American agriculture and industry.' In the 1930s, innovations in farm machinery would have caused an industrial revolution when applied to hemp. This single resource could have created millions of new jobs generating thousands of quality products. Hemp, if not made illegal, would have brought America out of the Great Depression. William Randolph Hearst (Citizen Kane) and the Hearst Paper Manufacturing Division of Kimberly Clark owned vast acreage of timberlands. The Hearst Company supplied most paper products. Patty Hearst’s grandfather, a destroyer of nature for his own personal profit, stood to lose billions because of hemp. In 1937, Dupont patented the processes to make plastics from oil and coal. Dupont’s Annual Report urged stockholders to invest in its new petrochemical division. Synthetics such as plastics, cellophane, celluloid, methanol, nylon, rayon, Dacron, etc., could now be made from oil. Natural hemp industrialization would have ruined over 80f Dupont’s business. THE CONSPIRACY Andrew Mellon became Hoover’s Secretary of the Treasury and Dupont’s primary investor. He appointed his future nephew-in-law, Harry J. Anslinger, to head the Federal Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs. Secret meetings were held by these financial tycoons. Hemp was declared dangerous and a threat to their billion dollar enterprises. For their dynasties to remain intact, hemp had to go. These men took an obscure Mexican slang word: 'marihuana' and pushed it into the consciousness of America. MEDIA MANIPULATION A media blitz of 'yellow journalism' raged in the late 1920s and 1930s. Hearst’s newspapers ran stories emphasizing the horrors of marihuana. The menace of marihuana made headlines. Readers learned that it was responsible for everything from car accidents to loose morality. Films like 'Reefer Madness' (1936), 'Marihuana: Assassin of Youth' (1935) and 'Marihuana: The Devil’s Weed' (1936) were propaganda designed by these industrialists to create an enemy. Their purpose was to gain public support so that anti-marihuana laws could be passed. Examine the following quotes from 'The Burning Question' aka REEFER MADNESS: a violent narcotic. acts of shocking violence. incurable insanity. soul-destroying effects. under the influence of the drug he killed his entire family with an ax. more vicious, more deadly even than these soul-destroying drugs (heroin, cocaine) is the menace of marihuana! Reefer Madness did not end with the usual 'the end.' The film concluded with these words plastered on the screen: TELL YOUR CHILDREN. In the 1930s, people were very naive; even to the point of ignorance. The masses were like sheep waiting to be led by the few in power. They did not challenge authority. If the news was in print or on the radio, they believed it had to be true. They told their children and their children grew up to be the parents of the baby-boomers. On April 14, 1937, the Prohibitive Marihuana Tax Law or the bill that outlawed hemp was directly brought to the House Ways and Means Committee. This committee is the only one that can introduce a bill to the House floor without it being debated by other committees. The Chairman of the Ways and Means, Robert Doughton, was a Dupont supporter. He insured that the bill would pass Congress. Dr. James Woodward, a physician and attorney, testified too late on behalf of the American Medical Association. He told the committee that the reason the AMA had not denounced the Marihuana Tax Law sooner was that the Association had just discovered that marihuana was hemp. Few people, at the time, realized that the deadly menace they had been reading about on Hearst’s front pages was in fact passive hemp. The AMA understood cannabis to be a MEDICINE found in numerous healing products sold over the last hundred years. In September of 1937, hemp became illegal. The most useful crop known became a drug and our planet has been suffering ever since. Congress banned hemp because it was said to be the most violence-causing drug known. Anslinger, head of the Drug Commission for 31 years, promoted the idea that marihuana made users act extremely violent. In the 1950s, under the Communist threat of McCarthyism, Anslinger now said the exact opposite. Marijuana will pacify you so much that soldiers would not want to fight. Today, our planet is in desperate trouble. Earth is suffocating as large tracts of rain forests disappear. Pollution, poisons and chemicals are killing people. These great problems could be reversed if we industrialized hemp. Natural biomass could provide all of the planet’s energy needs that are currently supplied by fossil fuels. We have consumed 80f our oil and gas reserves. We need a renewable resource. Hemp could be the solution to soaring gas prices. THE WONDER PLANT Hemp has a higher quality fiber than wood fiber. Far fewer caustic chemicals are required to make paper from hemp than from trees. Hemp paper does not turn yellow and is very durable. The plant grows quickly to maturity in a season where trees take a lifetime. ALL PLASTIC PRODUCTS SHOULD BE MADE FROM HEMP SEED OIL. Hempen plastics are biodegradable! Over time, they would break down and not harm the environment. Oil-based plastics, the ones we are very familiar with, help ruin nature; they do not break down and will do great harm in the future. The process to produce the vast array of natural (hempen) plastics will not ruin the rivers as Dupont and other petrochemical companies have done. Ecology does not fit in with the plans of the Oil Industry and the political machine. Hemp products are safe and natural. MEDICINES SHOULD BE MADE FROM HEMP. We should go back to the days when the AMA supported cannabis cures. 'Medical Marijuana' is given out legally to only a handful of people while the rest of us are forced into a system that relies on chemicals. Pot is only healthy for the human body. WORLD HUNGER COULD END. A large variety of food products can be generated from hemp. The seeds contain one of the highest sources of protein in nature. ALSO: They have two essential fatty acids that clean your body of cholesterol. These essential fatty acids are not found anywhere else in nature! Consuming pot seeds is the best thing you could do for your body. Eat uncooked hemp seeds. CLOTHES SHOULD BE MADE FROM HEMP. Hemp clothing is extremely strong and durable over time. You could hand clothing, made from pot, down to your grandchildren. Today, there are American companies that make hemp clothing; usually 50emp. Hemp fabrics should be everywhere. Instead, they are almost underground. Superior hemp products are not allowed to advertise on fascist television. Kentucky, once the top hemp producing state, made it ILLEGAL TO WEAR hemp clothing! Can you imagine being thrown into jail for wearing quality jeans? The world is crazy...but that does not mean you have to join the insanity. Get together. Spread the news. Tell people, and that includes your children, the truth. Use hemp products. Eliminate the word 'marijuana.' Realize the history that created it. Make it politically incorrect to say or print the M-word. Fight against the propaganda (designed to favor the agenda of the super rich) and the bullshit. Hemp must be utilized in the future. We need a clean energy source to save our planet. INDUSTRIALIZE HEMP! The liquor, tobacco and oil companies fund more than a million dollars a day to Partnership for a Drug-Free America and other similar agencies. We have all seen their commercials. Now, their motto is: It’s more dangerous than we thought. Lies from the powerful corporations, that began with Hearst, are still alive and well today. The brainwashing continues. Now, the commercials say: If you buy a joint, you contribute to murders and gang wars. The latest anti-pot commercials say: If you buy a joint...you are promoting TERRORISM! The new enemy (terrorism) has paved the road to brainwash you any way THEY see fit. There is only one enemy; the friendly people you pay your taxes to; the war-makers and nature destroyers. With your funding, they are killing the world right in front of your eyes. HALF A MILLION DEATHS EACH YEAR ARE CAUSED BY TOBACCO. HALF A MILLION DEATHS EACH YEAR ARE CAUSED BY ALCOHOL. NO ONE HAS EVER, EVER DIED FROM SMOKING POT!! In the entire history of the human race, not one death can be attributed to cannabis. Our society has outlawed grass but condones the use of the KILLERS: TOBACCO and ALCOHOL. Hemp should be declassified and placed in DRUG stores to relieve stress. Hardening and constriction of the arteries are bad; but hemp usage actually enlarges the arteries...which is a healthy condition. We have been so conditioned to think that: Smoking is harmful. That is NOT the case for passive pot. Ingesting THC, hemp’s active agent, has a positive effect; relieving asthma and glaucoma. A joint tends to alleviate the nausea caused by chemotherapy. You are able to eat on hemp. This is a healthy state of being. The stereotype for a pothead is similar to a drunk, bubble-brain. Yet, the truth is ones creative abilities can be enhanced under its influence. The perception of time slightly slows and one can become more sensitive. You can more appreciate all arts; be closer to nature and generally FEEL more under the influence of cannabis. It is, in fact, the exact opposite state of mind and body as the drunken state. You can be more aware with pot. The pot plant is an ALIEN plant. There is physical evidence that cannabis is not like any other plant on this planet. One could conclude that it was brought here for the benefit of humanity. Hemp is the ONLY plant where the males appear one way and the females appear very different, physically! No one ever speaks of males and females in regard to the plant kingdom because plants do not show their sexes; except for cannabis. To determine what sex a certain, normal, Earthly plant is: You have to look internally, at its DNA. A male blade of grass (physically) looks exactly like a female blade of grass. The hemp plant has an intense sexuallity. Growers know to kill the males before they fertilize the females. Yes, folks...the most potent pot comes from 'horny females.' The reason this amazing, very sophisticated, ET plant from the future is illegal has nothing to do with how it physically affects us.. POT IS ILLEGAL BECAUSE BILLIONAIRES WANT TO REMAIN BILLIONAIRES!

3rd DUI (2nd in 2 yrs).. Plus Hit and Run? What is the name of your state? CA Charge 1: 20002(a) hit and run misdemeanor. Charge 2: California Vehicle Code [CVC] section 23152(a) Coming to congestion in a left hand turn lane at a stop light, tapped the car in front of me at 2 MPH. (other driver says 5 MPH). Driver said that he wanted to pull over, but I kept going. I kept driving and minding about my own business, thinking nothing of the event. Apparently the guy called in the plate. Police car pulls over at house. Questioned. Cuffed and booked outside my house for suspicion of DUI AND Hit and Run. Police report says no FST conducted, although there were, and perhaps the reason for custody and detainment. BAC reportedly refused, while 'officer induced confusion' transpired. I am 30 years old trying to establish a career. I am a failed entrepreneur who still lives at the home he was brought up in. I still have a nagging background check that is from 8 years ago. It is haunting; you always feel shameful sending resumes or even trying to make business connections to potential employers. Feels like someone is always looking over your back. I thought my alcohol issues were over, and they were for some time. (About 6 years) After 2 years of counseling and being on antidepressant medication, I stopped going because it was too costly. Commuted to college from home (17 mile commute) and had a prior at age 19 and 22. I was very boisterous in college and have calmed down since. This would be the 2nd DUI within 10 years. The damage was minor. I was not wearing glasses on at the time, and didn’t see any damage to the other vehicle. As I got the police photo, I saw the indentation of the license plate screw into the back bumper of the car. Upon obtaining Police Report, immediately sent apology-letter to the man who called in. I provided Insurance/information/etc. I am absolutely going to plea not guilty to the H&R, because I reasonably didn't see damage to vehicle. Defense: "mistake of fact" and also I was not wearing my eye glasses that I wear 99.9% of the time. Requesting Dry Reckless in lieu of DUI. Reasonable doubt as to being intoxicated. I believe that not having on my glasses was the main reason for the nudging of the car in front of me. I am nearsighted and almost ALWAYS wear my glasses. This must have been the first time in 5 years that I did not have my glasses with me. They were found 3 days later in my backyard. I’ve never been in accident in lifetime (14 years of driving). Currently trying to expunge record for past (10years) but I have yet to make the final touches to the documents before sending them in. While I still believe that the State has to prove beyond all reasonable doubt that I was intoxicated, I would be willing to plea to a non-DUI charge. There are some issues with false information that could be on the police report (a video could prove that, but also there is evidence that would work against me if video was introduced). A FST was conducted and failed, the one-legged stand on a hill with no shoes on (right in front of my house). It is believed that after this FST failure, that detainment happened right after, yet it is not noted on the police report. Also there were some issues with the interrogation procedure by police, with methods that are not constitutional but would be hard to prove, unless there was a whole Internal Affair Investigation conducted. So the prosecution should have 1) officer testimony and observation of "objective symptoms" 2) no FSTs marked or claimed 3) no BAC level 4) no comment about driving. They did claim that the car I drove "backed" into the patrol car's steel enforced front plow fender. (A MVS video would clear that up if it is true or not.) I feel that getting a DUI at such a young age a long time ago really had some major ill social and economic consequences. I gradually conditioned myself to be less and less social or outgoing over the years. Until recently I would use my car just to go to bookstores or libraries, rarely even driving at all. I have been pretty much a social recluse that spends most of his time on the internet, doing reading, researching etc. Now all of these are apparently not going to even be available if I am suspended for driving for 2 years. I am a failed entrepreneur, who now needs to look toward the other established public or private sector for a career. None of these potential careers or jobs will see a recent DUI as a positive. Even the stuff 10 years ago, still HAUNTS me to this very day- I’ve been paying the penalty on those things socially, economically, mentally, financially, physically, etc. They will never go away. At this point, this is ALL I am focusing on right now are these charges. I have been working on my defense for about a month now, and have over 105 pages of a WORD document that includes my perception, reasonable doubt, mitigating factors, inaccuracies, explanations, laws, DMV proceedings, objections, lawyers that I contacted, costs, motions, attorney website snippets that pertain to case I have also visited the department and the courthouse of the court I will be arraigned in on multiple occasions. I have taken notes on other plea bargains and proceedings, the characters: the judge, deputy D.A., city prosecutor, P.D., prominent lawyers whom are familiar from internet and solicitation material sent to immediately after. Wondering if getting some "face time" and experience with the proceedings could be beneficial. The day-to-day activity in the court room is an interesting little microcosm. I have attended a few AA meetings, in hopes that I can somehow use it as leverage that I realize any error that I may have done in the past and want to move forward. I also attend online meetings via the internet. My main objective is to achieve gainful employment and become a productive citizen and rejoin society. I have gained 2 part-time jobs since the incident, one a weekend job that has to do with catering private parties, and another part time job with my friend's internet company that requires me to send e-mails and make phone calls to various publishing suppliers. Innocent until proven guilty. Would like any insights or advice if possible. Wondering what the best possible strategy would be, considering the arraignment date is approaching. My initial plan is to bring with me all of the 105+ pages of documentation and explanation of the events as I see them, and possible resolutions to this situation. I would not hand over all of my writings, as some may be not relevant or needed, but I would show that I am serious to put this event past me. When talking to the Deputy DA (I have already seen her in action while doing some research at the court room) or P.D. , I plan to tell her my situation, a brief history, my attempt to contact the other party in the 20002(a) and letter, and maybe even some of the points or reasons as to the reasonable doubt or evidence that the state has for these charges. My initial stance would be that I have a tall order to ask, and that I hope that the state can drop all criminal charges. I will explain to her that the police report may look bad, and the factors that there is a prior, there is an alleged refusal, and there is minor damage to another car, but these variables do have reasonable explanations, and my willingness to put this incident behind me and produce a net positive result for myself as an individual as well as a net positive for society, the people, and the state. In other matters, from the research I have done on the DMV hearing, which will take place prior to the criminal arraignment, I hope to prove that the alleged refusal was false, there was officer induced confusion, inadequate admonition by the transporting officers (different from arresting officer), and that I have prepared the proper objections so that they can appear in the transcript and not waived automatically. I will also provide the list of 15 lawyers and legal firms that I have talked to, which sent soliciting information after my arrest, their fees, and their comments. Each one willing to represent me or fight the charge, if I decided to pay for their services for retainer (which I do not have the capital to spend currently). Using that information, mention of lawyers that the specific DMV officer that has dealt with a specific lawyer I have contacted, and the possible threat of obtaining a "writ" if the suspension is not "set aside." In that case, the DMV attorney in Sacramento would be contacted and as far as I know, legal fees that I do happen to spend would be reimbursed if it is found that eventually the writ could be obtained and accepted. Hopefully this could be some reason for the DMV hearing administrator to act in my interest and "set aside" the suspension. I am also curious to see if the actual arresting officer shows up to the DMV, as my initial thoughts would be that he would be too busy or not even subpoenaed in the first place. This may be a bad presumption though. As far as trying to go to a jury trial, I do believe that this is a possible pathway. Depending on what is on the police videos, or if they even can produce video footage of the stop, detainment, interrogation, I feel that I may have a reasonable defense and I do feel that I could convince at least 1 juror out of 12 to believe that there is reasonable doubt as to the charges. I would actually feel somewhat comfortable taking the stand and attempting to explain the circumstances. This may be a "risky" proposition though, because it is possible that, if found guilty, the sentence could be pushed further upwards rather than just the minimum. However, seeing that this is my future livelihood at stake and that I do have time to invest in an optimal outcome, it may be a path to take. I also will claim that I have a grievance with the priors, to which I plead "no contest" in both events as I was young, scared, and just wanted to get past it. I do not think I was given the best advice, nor optimal outcomes in either situation, and may have some constitutional grounds to appeal or have them stricken from the record. Thank you in advance.
Do you think our " community" represents the average turkish folk, despite of our differences?Or not exactly? I just wonder what most of us think about that... We are approximately 40 regular turkish users + about 10 foreign friends of Turks + more than 200 users who appear from time to time (not to mention the persons who just come and go once only ). Most of us know some other users, and we even built some friendship relations. We have some people who live abroad ( UK, France, Australia, Kuweit,USA, Canada, etc ) and we have people who are in homeland Turkey too. We have teachers, students, entrepreneurs,employees,etc... We have people who sometimes don't share some political views ( even if we all love our country and our nation ). I just wonder... What's your opinion about it?.. Thank you in advance.. Edit : Well, I think that's a good and serious question, so please give serious answers ( no trolls allowed )
Are Filipinos mayabang in nature? What is your opinion on this? Being an Filipino entrepreneur, my line of business gives me access to meeting many people of different races and nationalities. I just find Filipinos in particular are quick to boast, though most are stretched exxagerations of the truth of their accomplishments and possessions. Just the other day a Filipina called me to give her a consultation, but the whole time it became clear she wasn't really serious and spent the entire time I was there to tell me her various businesses (she stated she had several factories, but never told me what they were, even though I prodded her for details) and properties in The Philippines (never told me where these properties were either) and how she had so much money and her neighbors in The Philippines were all celebrities and politicians. Mind you, I am very detailed about knowing my clients well before meeting with them, so I can gauge how much they are willing to spend and not over shoot my estimates. -Continue She lives in a working class neighborhood and she works for Caterpillar plant and her husband is a retired enlisted military and currently working for the post office, so I know from what I gathered that it's fiscally impossible to have all of the things she mentioned. She even showed me a Louis Vutton bag, which was clearly a knockoff, but a good one at that. I have meet another Filipina who stated she owned several bars in The Philippines, when I prodded for names, she mentioned bars where I knew the real owners quite well. I have more, but that should be enough... julia22: Sorry, I wasn't trying to imply that all Filipinos are mayabang. Through experiences I just find that Filipinos tend to be quite boastful towards me, even when I don't ask to know about their possessions. Also, stretching the truth, is boasting. No matter how little you stretch it. Sigh. I guess I worded this question wrong. Sorry if it sounded as if I'm implying that all Filipinos are mayabang in nature. I'm Filipino and I know many are quite humble as well, like my parents. Many work hard and are not open about their successes. I just find there is this sort of competition between Filipinos: young and old, working and professionals, old rich and the nueve riche , jealous relatives, etc. where they seem to won up another - boasting or not. They don't like to hear about successes about other Filipinos... especially ones they know or live near.
What kind of Business degree should I get? I am definitely interested in getting a business degree. I know I don't want to be an entrepreneur but other than that I'm not sure what I should look into. I'm going to be a senior in high school this year and I'm the president of my school's chapter of Future Business Leaders of America. When we attend the state conference next spring I would like to have some idea of what I'm interested in because of all of the great opportunities available. Can someone tell me a little bit about different kinds of business or at least tell me where I can find out. Serious answers only please.
Any 20 somethings not had sex in 5 years? I realize this is a funny question for most, but for me it's a reality. I had girlfriends and sex off and on from age 16 to 21, I even lived with my girlfriend for 6 months, but then just quit for no real reason, just got tired of the game. Never been heartbroken really, I am 26, 5'11", 180lbs. and not conceited but not bad looking. I work from home in an area of the country in which I didn't grow up and most of my friends here and back home are now either married, married with children or in serious relationships. I must say I have not tried very hard but I forgot how to meet people. I work from home and am by myself much of the time, I am an entrepreneur with money in the bank, etc. Is there anyone else who has gone through a similar time and what did you do to get back in the game, meet females, etc.??
Did you know oil and wars have always been linked? The definitive history of the role of oil in modern warfare has not been written, but a lot can be learned from Robert Zubrin’s new book, Energy Victory. “For nearly a century,” Zubrin writes, “control of oil has been the decisive factor determining victory or defeat in the struggle for world dominance.” That was true in World War I and World War II. Zubrin believes oil will be pivotal in the global conflict now underway as well. In 1914, the United States was responsible for 67 percent of worldwide oil production. When war broke out in Europe, the Germans used U-boats in an attempt to stop America from sending oil to France and Britain. Worried that he would not have enough fuel for the trucks needed to move his troops, French Prime Minister Georges Clemenceau declared: “Gasoline is as vital as blood in the coming battles.” President Woodrow Wilson did manage to get American oil convoys safely across the Atlantic. “The crack German infantry were as tough as they come,” Zubrin writes, “but there was no way they could cope with a new army equipped with fleets of rampaging gasoline-powered land battleships and assisted by unmatched swarms of fighter aircraft.” At a victory banquet in London on Nov. 18, 1918, Lord Curzon declared: “The Allied cause had floated to victory upon a wave of oil.” Hitler learned from the Kaiser’s mistakes. A few decades later he had tanks – Panzers, in need of large quantities of fuel to blitz France, Poland and other corners of Europe. Nazi fuel requirements expanded further following the invasion of the Soviet Union in 1941. With that in mind, the Germans set their sights on Baku, the heart of the Soviet oil industry. “Unless we get the Baku oil,” Hitler said, “the war is lost.” They didn’t and it was. Erwin Rommel’s fabled Afrika Korps was crippled by fuel shortages and prevented by Allied troops from capturing the then-underutilized oil fields of the Middle East. By 1944, Zubrin recounts, though the Nazis produced tens of thousands of aircraft and tanks, “they were nearly all useless due to lack of fuel.” In the Battle of the Bulge, thirst for oil led the Nazis to try to capture American gasoline supplies in eastern Belgium. A Panzer assault was foiled when American soldiers blew up bridges and set drums of oil ablaze to create a screen of fire and smoke. Before long, the Panzers literally ran out of gas. American aircraft destroyed them where they parked. Oil was no less pivotal in the Pacific theater. In the 1930s, the growing Japanese empire was in dire need of petroleum resources, the closest of which were in Southeast Asia. When the Japanese invaded Indochina, the U.S. responded by declaring an oil embargo against Japan. After Pearl Harbor, American submarines in the Pacific made Japanese oil tankers their priority, second only to aircraft carriers. Fuel shortages prevented Japan from training pilots adequately. One result, Zubrin says, was the “Great Marianas Turkey Shoot” in which the Japanese lost 273 planes. The U.S. lost 29. The reason the Americans prevailed in the crucial Battle of Leyte Gulf — despite the Japanese battleships' “hundredfold advantage in firepower and armor” over the screen of destroyers protecting the U.S. troopships — appears to have been that the imperial fleet ran short of fuel. Since World War II, oil production has increasingly shifted to the Middle East. Today, Iran’s oil wealth is being used to finance terrorism and build nuclear weapons (whatever the most recent intelligence estimate claims). Arabia’s oil is being used to spread the Saudis’ supremacist and virulently anti-Western ideology. We give the Islamists money; they give us petroleum — and Osama bin Laden, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Hezbollah, Hamas, and the hijackers of 9/11. Some bargain. The problem is we can use nothing but oil to fill the tanks of our cars and trucks. The solution is diversity – creating a variety of fuel choices. The quickest way to achieve that, Zubrin argues, is simply by mandating that all new cars be Flexible Fuel Vehicles. Entrepreneurs will then compete feverishly to make alternative fuels available. The definitive history of the role of oil in modern warfare has not been written. But then, we don’t yet know how the story ends. We do know this: Since the Iranian revolution of 1979, Islamism and terrorism have proliferated, as has America’s dependence on a uniquely strategic commodity controlled by regimes whose ultimate goal is “Death to America!” Few of our elected leaders appear to grasp this. Fewer still have proposed any serious steps in response.
Will Our (US) Economy recover ? Dr. Edwin Vieira, Jr., Ph.D., J.D. March 17, 2005 NewsWithViews.com Contrary to a widespread belief, socialism in the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe did not collapse because of the clever geostrategic maneuvers of the Reagan Administration. Neither did the East Bloc break up because its leaders were incompetents who put into practice the wrong plans. Particular politicians and policies--East or West--had next to nothing to do with it. The East Bloc fell apart--and had to fall apart, no matter what anyone did--because of an obscure principle of economics known as "the impossibility of rational economic calculation under bureaucratic central planning". Socialism failed--and must always fail--because, without prices for goods and services generated by a free market, central planners cannot allocate resources and manpower intelligently. But central planners cannot allow a free market to set prices (otherwise there could be no central planning). In the long run, this self-imposed bureaucratic blindness to the real values of people and things results in monumental waste, the failure of central plans to deliver sound capital investments and advancing standards of living, and finally the collapse of those societies that allow politicians and bureaucrats, rather than free entrepreneurs and workers, to direct the course of economic affairs. Although this principle had been recognized by other economists for almost a century theretofore, it received systematic exposition in Ludwig von Mises's seminal treatise, Socialism, first published in the 1920s. So, during the heyday of central planning from the 1920s to the 1980s, no one should have been unaware of the problem. Nonetheless, the political elite and the intelligentsiia ignored it, just about everywhere. In the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe, where Stalin and his successors imposed industrial-strength central planning through police-state terrorism and slave labor in the Gulag, the price was higher than in (say) the United States, to which Franklin D. Roosevelt was able to administer only a diluted dose of the same poison. But a price there was, paid as usual by common people. Economic theory also teaches that any scheme of fiat currency and fractional-reserve central banking is just as inherently flawed, incapable of permanent existence, and inevitably doomed to disaster as all-around, full-blown socialism, because fractional-reserve central banking systematically subverts the free market's structure of prices through expansion of currency and credit--which results in redistribution of wealth, misallocation of scarce capital, and collapse in either depression or hyperinflation followed by depression. This is no new insight. The problems fractional-reserve banking causes were widely discussed in the 1800s; and the whole subject of political versus free-market money was exhaustively examined by Ludwig von Mises, in his treatise The Theory of Money and Credit, first published in the 1920s. (Probably the best book on this subject now available for the average reader is Murray Rothbard's The Mystery of Banking.) But, throughout the Western world during the 1900s and even unto the present moment, the political elite, high finance and big business, and their hired intelligentsiia have generally ignored these problems--doubtlessly because irredeemable currency and fractional-reserve central banking have served their short-term interests, and the costs of the system have always been paid by picking the pockets of the common man. For this country's system of fractional-reserve central banking, though, Americans cannot blame some foreign dictator such as Stalin, but instead need to indict their own home-grown usurpers and tyrants: primarily, Presidents Woodrow Wilson (who signed the Federal Reserve Act in 1913), Franklin Roosevelt (who outlawed private possession of gold for use as currency in 1933-1934), and Lyndon Johnson (who repudiated the government's promise to redeem its paper currency in silver coin in 1967-1968). Some people also assign a large share of responsibility to Richard Nixon, who terminated redemption of Federal Reserve Notes in gold for foreign banks in 1971. This, however, is unfair. By "closing the gold window", Nixon extricated this country from an especially expensive variety of parasitism by the Federal Reserve System: its ability to prop up the value of Federal Reserve Notes by looting America's gold reserves. Indeed, such was Nixon’s legal duty. Because the Federal Reserve System as a whole is unconstitutional, paying out this nation's gold in redemption of Federal Reserve Notes is unconstitutional, too. (Nixon, of course, was far from being a constitutionalist. But, as folk wisdom teaches, "God writes straight with crooked lines".) In the case of the Federal Reserve, economic history all too strongly confirms economic theory. In 1913, the Federal Reserve's touts predicted that it would allow bankers and politicians to "manage" currency "scientifically", and thereby to end business cycles, eliminate inflation, and forefend depressions. Yet, the country soon suffered a sharp, albeit short depression in 1920-1921, followed by the horrendous collapses of the stock market and the banks in 1929-1933, and the Great Depression that festered for the remainder of the 1930s. And since World War II, Federal Reserve Notes have lost more than 90% of their purchasing power--which is a serious consequence of inflation by any reasonable standard

Finish College Or Not? I'm trying to decide whether to continue college or not. I'll tell you a bit about me, as I’m not really your typical college freshman. I started my first business at 15 years old selling collectible cards online and later went to start a magazine for young entrepreneurs, which grew to 7 columnists. Most recently I started non-profit organization for charities, which grew to about 10 people and landed some impressive clients while appearing on press. I *was forced to* major in engineering (long story). The course load sucked away all my time to pursue my own endeavors. Hence, I'm thinking of whether to even finish college, as it seems like a total waste of time. I haven't made millions yet, but I DID succeed in a number of other things. Getting very influential people to take serious a guy at my age seriously is NOT easy, but I managed to do it. Should I continue college? Are the years better off on business? Thanks!
Inny or Outty? This is a serious question that has been floating around the African American Entrepreneurs Committee of Commerce. Rachel, I don't think that was a belly button or a girl.
Investment adviser or chef? If you have passion to be an investment adviser but have to go through 2 years training as a teller, and you hate the kinds of customer service as a teller...watching long lineup, dealing with meant customers and etc, which stress you out. On the other hand, you also love to cook and can be a chef, but need a year or so to go culinary school, and understand you're gonna deal with yelling and screaming in the kitchen, mild allergy with lobster and shrimp. However, you maybe able to have your own business( restaurant or bakery shop, food chain and etc), which is something you enjoy and you are good at as an entrepreneur. Now, you are over 30's. Which career could you choose? Serious answer will be appreciated. Thanks
