- Contact your local chapter of SCORE you can find it in the phone book or....
- ESPN like journalism students. So you want to position yourself to be involved in writing. Build yourself a portfolio to present. ESPN normally makes internships available at local colleges for credit. Enroll in a good school with a strong journalism program (like Columbia School of Journalism in NYC)
- first, get you language right. You cannot be an "entrepreneurship" - you would be an "entrepreneur". And, by definition, and entrepreneur is self-made, an internship is almost an oxymoron to being an entrepreneur. If you want to learn the sports business, volunteer first, and then, if you're good, they'll hire you for a summer or something.
- Congrats on deciding so young to be an entrepreneur. There are very limited programs for any type of "entrpreneurship internships". I recently graduated with a degree in entrepreneurship (BBA) and I had a hard time finding something to fill my internship credits. I will give some great advice that I wish someone had told me. Just identify the type of business that you want to go into and get hired at a similar place and learn everything that you can. Learn how to host, bartend, serve tables, work in the kitchen, everything. YOu don't have to be an expert at each position, you just need to know how that position works with the rest of the business. I would also recommend contacting SCORE (www.score.org) to locate a mentor in your area of interest. I have been in the restaurant/bar business for 10+ years, and I can tell you that it is a tough business. You picked the single hardest industry for an entrepreneur to make it. If you are determined and find the right backers (ESPN Zone type theme = over 1 Million per location needed to open), you can make anything happen. Get to know people in the business and learn as much as you can. The rest is up to you...
