Marketing.?

Sooo....I've been looking around princetonreview.com for possible careers/majors and I came upon Marketing. I read all that there is about it online, but I just want a few people's opinion about this career/major. What classes would I be taking? Is it a high-paying job? Good outlook to even get a job after college? Basically I want to know anything you can tell me! Thanks!

  1. I don't know about most colleges but if you want to major in marketing at my school you have to be a business major with an emphasis in marketing. The classes you start with are the basic business classes: microeconomics, macroeconomics, business law, financial accounting, managerial accounting, statistics, business calculus, and business communications. Once you're finished with your lower core, you have to do your upper core which is: financial management, marketing, business law 2, business statistics, and business management. Once your're done with that you're allowed to take whatever marketing classes they offer. It's a very good field, which is very broad, with a good starting salary. It's alot of fun, but be prepared for ALOT of group work.
  2. Marketing is the most highly paid skill in the world. Think about it for a moment. You can have the best service or company in the world. But if you have know "customers"... You are out of business- very quickly. There are thousands of small businesses in your local area that are hungry for clients. Many of them are struggling to keep their doors open. Do you think they would gladly pay you to deliver clients to their door? Of course they would. They will be glad to pay you over and over again. When you truly understand the principles of marketing you will NEVER be unemployed again. Frank C http://www.frank-marketing.com
